All Catechists and middle school Catholic school teachers are required to attend the second annual Faith & Science Training with Father Robert Spitzer, SJ, on Saturday, Aug. 6, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and School, 2766 Navajo Road, El Cajon 92020, from 9 AM until 3 PM.

Earlier this year the diocese invited its faithful to share their experiences in the Church, as part of a worldwide consultation of Catholics called a synod. They met in 1,100 small groups in parishes, schools and other places across San Diego and Imperial Counties.

The diocese has taken the extraordinary step to release the report that summarizes the key themes that emerged from those listening sessions.

To continue to consult its community, the diocese plans to conduct an electronic survey this fall. If you have not done so already, please check your parish bulletin or website or contact your parish to register to receive the survey.

This is a crucial time for our Church. The insights that come from this consultation will be used to renew our parishes, schools and the diocese itself by strengthening a church culture that listens to its faithful, makes them co-responsible for the life of the church and reflects their wisdom.
