The Knights of Columbus are the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.7 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their community, families and young people.
St. Michael the Archangel #9590 was founded in 1987 through the efforts of the parish pastor, Fr. Michael Cunnane and Ray Olvera, the council’s first Grand Knight. The council is named for St. Michael the Archangel. The council works closely with Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Santee, with members providing active participation within the parish. Member provide volunteer labor and funds for various projects and sponsors many social events for the parish.
As needs arise locally or globally, there are always parishioners willing to help in whatever capacity is feasible for them at that time. Our local Knights branch usually help with yard work or basic home repairs for the elderly/shut-ins of our neighborhood.
