1. On Sunday, March 19, all families with children preparing for First Eucharist have a preparation workshop. Please gather for 10 a.m. Mass, snacks will follow, for a donation, in the Cunnane Parish Center and workshop with prayer/reflection, “Grandma’s Bread” DVD, banner making and bread baking. All Grade 2 Wednesday and Year 2 Tuesday CIC Families need an A+ major reason to absent themselves.
2. Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m. March 24 is hosted by Religious Education. We are in need of Readers for the station parts. If your child is a good reader and would like to participate, practices are Sundays March 12 and 19, 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. in church. We have Soup Suppers in the Cunnane Parish Center at 6 p.m. during the Fridays of Lent. All $$ donations go to help our Food Bank and those in need in our areas.
3. High School Youth are hosting Stations of the Cross on March 17 and also need readers.
3. Called to Witness~ High School Students ~ Lent 2017 is forHigh School Juniors and Seniors post confirmation is on Mondays 7 – 8:30 p.m. in Room 8. Mr. Spellacy is the Facilitator. We welcome you to join for one or more Mondays.
Religious Education Classes
Guardian Angels Religious Education warmly welcomes all families to join us in becoming better disciples of Jesus and in making the world a better place. We have space for many more young people and you are never too late or too old to register.
We offer Religious Education sessions and Bible Study suitable for all age groups and hope you will find a group to meet your needs. Perhaps you would like to study as a Family (contact R.E Office) , we have several Web Links on our parish website for adults who like to study at their leisure. We have sessions/meetings at our parish for Young Adults and Youth as well as Opportunities for Adults, and for children ages 4 to 16.
We have space for as many young people as desire to become friends of Jesus.
Religious Education: Guardian Angels welcomes all children ages 4 and up and all teenagers. We welcome those who are baptized and those who wish to prepare for baptism. We ask all who participate in our Religious Education (R.E.) sessions/classes/programs to be diligent and fervent in attending Mass every Sunday or Saturday p.m.

Nursery (ages 6 months to 4 yrs.) during the 10 a.m. Mass on Sundays (Sept. – June) in Room 8, Parish Center. There is no charge for this service and the adults staff are background checked through the Diocese. Nursery re opens Sunday, September 11.
Preschool and Kindergarten RE. for ages 4 and 5 is during the 10a.m. Mass on Sundays in Rooms 3 and 4. Registration required. Sessions are Sundays, September 25, 2016 to May 7, 2017.
Grades 1 through 5 R.E. is on Wednesdays 3:45 to 5 p.m. Registration required. We have a few whole group workshops/prayer sessions during year. Sessions are September 21, 2016 to May 24, 2017. Grades 6, 7, and 8 R.E. is on Wednesdays 7 to 8:15 p.m. Registration required. We offer classroom instruction, whole group activity a few times per year. Parents and household members are expected to join us for whole group sessions.
High School Confirmation is a two year process and is offered on Mondays 7 to 8:30 p.m. Begins September 19, 2019. Registration required. Confirmation Year Two candidates have a Retreat weekend as immediate preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Our format has whole group prayer, praise and worship music, sharing on gospel, topic presentation and small group discussion. Opportunities for social, outreach and other activities are offered at Youth Group which meets after Sunday 5:30 p.m. Mass. Confirmation for year 2 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Guardian Angels.
Confirmed High School Juniors and Seniors Post Confirmation Group are offered two sessions per year. We begin October 5 with 8 Mondays on Catholic Social Teachings with Mr. Dan Spellacy. During Lent 2017 we offer 6 Mondays on Living the Christian Life, Mr. Dan Spellacy is the Facilitator. To sign up for these sessions please contact Religious Ed Office 448-1213 ext 312. Christian Initiation of Children and Teenagers for children over the age of 7 who wish to prepare for Baptism or for older children/teenagers who are baptized and wish to prepare for the reception of First Eucharist (Holy Communion) is offered on Tuesdays 6:30 to 7:40 p.m. Registration is required.
R. E. groups have a classroom format with several whole group gatherings throughout the year.
Home Study/Family Gatherings: We acknowledge that many families have a time crunch and so we offer home study for children/parents who are not in immediate preparation for either Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist or First Reconciliation. All who registered have been mailed the schedule. We have a group session in Nov., Feb., and April otherwise we need to do our weekly online assignments. Please join the Parish for Mass with Marriachi music for Feast Our Lady of Guadalupe Sunday, Dec. 11, for 11:30 a.m. Mass followed by Fiesta in Cunnane Parish Center. Also join us on Sunday, January 8 for Santo Nino Mass and Fiesta.
Registration is ongoing for R.E. We charge a basic fee to cover cost of books/bibles/supplies/snacks etc. However, no child or family is refused R.E. participation because of an inability to pay. Please call the R.E. office with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have.
Parent/Guardians Sessions: Parents/Children in Grade 2 preparation for First Reconciliation and Eucharist have several meetings/workshops during the year.
Parents of Confirmation candidates have a few sessions per year and are invited to join us for at least three (3) Monday night sessions with their teenager.
Parents of children and teenagers in CIC are requested to attend sessions with their children on two Tuesdays per month.
